Scholarships and Awards for Commercial Animation students!

Hi everyone!  As new students you should go to your account (MyCap) on the Capilanou.ca website and make sure you fill out the application for all the general scholarships and awards.

There are also scholarships and awards just for animation students!  They're meant as an incentive for great work.  Although things may change, currently this is what's offered:

DHX Media Scholarship - $2000 cash and a paid summer internship!  This is for the 24 first years only (what great odds!).  You will need to create an online portfolio of your work to date (March 2013).  And since it's a "scholarship" you need to have a GPA of 3.5 or better.  You apply through the coordinator (me) late in the Spring term.

Atomic Cartoons Scholarship - This is similar to the above scholarship except there are two winners!  First place is $1500 and a paid summer internship and Second place is $500 and a paid summer internship.

Wacom Leadership Award (see photo).  Wacom USA doesn't do this with any other school but Cap!  They will be awarding a new, 24"HD Cintiq tablet (worth $2700 USD) to a graduating animation student each year for the next four years.  This was the first year they did this and gave one to the department as well.  It's currently on my desk and it's amazing.
